The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) is a show about female wrestlers from the 80s. It has amazing writing that spoofs the pageantry and the physicality of 80s wrestling, while embracing the soap opera of real life.

The Women who play the ridiculous characters in Glow are my favourite kind of TV People. Willing to get weird enough that it all has layers – Junk Chain (hood), Beirut (the terrorist), Savannah Rose (the All American Girl), and Zoya (Cold War Villan) are meaningful. The stereotypes take on a new meaning while the show explores the day to day lives of the actors who play them.

While the first season relied too heavily on the storyline of a venegeful, jealous battle between frenemies. The second season is now available and is a mockumentary in the vein of a spinal tap.
